Look For Analysis: pg 141

I looked at two different reviews of an expansion for a game I like, Civilization Beyond Earth: Rising Tide. This expansion supposedly adds a lot to the game, but is it worth buying? Both of the reviews I read had pretty much the same conclusion and points about it. However, I think the second review was overall more informative. The second review went into more detail about what exactly the expansion affects, and what’s good and bad about each new feature. The first review I read, kept referring back to reviewing the original Civ: BE itself, and how it’s so much like an older game, Alpha Centauri. I found this a bit distracting, and taking away from why I wanted to read the article; to hear about the new expansion. The second article also included imbedded YouTube videos about Beyond Earth, including the official trailer and a video about the new diplomacy system the expansion introduces, which they highly praised as the best new feature offered. I did really like how the first review included pictures from the new expansion, which maybe aren’t quite as affective as videos, but close. I also thought that the website the first review was from had a better layout, and better visual quality. I definitely would have picked that one as my favorite if it had stayed a little bit closer to what I wanted to hear about; rather than continuing to complain about the original game, review the expansion in detail.
